What is 1.3343 Steel?

1.3343 steel is a molybdenum-based high-speed steel in the tungsten-molybdenum series with a very wide range of uses. HSS grade M2 steel is a medium alloyed high-speed steel with good machinability. Offering well-balanced toughness, high wear resistance, 1.3343 tool steel also retains its mechanical properties at high temperatures. 1.3343 steel material is also available in powdered metal condition as 1.3343plus.

What are High Speed Steels or HSS Steel?

High speed tool steels (HSS or HS) are a tool steel commonly used as cutting tool material.

In terms of 1.3343 properties, it is mostly used in various cutting tools such as milling cutters, taps, reamers, circular drills, countersink drills, circular saws, broaching tools, narrow cutters, milling cutters and planer blades suitable for woodworking, as a matrix, punch and inflator used in the production of bolts, nuts, cold extrusion punches and molds. PVD/CVD is a very suitable steel.

It can withstand high temperatures without losing its hardness. This property allows HSS steel to cut faster than high carbon steel, hence the name high speed steel.

What is Air Steel?

HSS Air steel refers to steel that is self-hardened by air. This type of steel is characteristic of products such as 1.2080 cold work tool steel, which is high in carbon and low in alloying elements. For this reason, 1.2080 steels are called Air Steel in the market.

1.3343 material is also called air steel in the market. However, this use may cause confusion and cause the wrong material to be supplied.
